Edward Spitz

I’ve always been fascinated by print. Those ink-stained pages — whether from newspapers, comics, or magazines — are more than just paper. They're windows into other worlds, snapshots of the past, fragments of imagination and history. At some point, I realized these prints, once so vibrant and alive, were being forgotten. And that’s when I decided to give them a second life.

The story

behind the artist

Edward Spitz is a boundary-pushing artist who enhances vintage rarities prints into timeless, unrepeatable art statements. His work begins with the printed media—vintage newspapers, magazines, and comics—which he reimagines as contemporary art that bridges the past and the future. Central to his process is the use of resin—a material chosen for its ability to preserve, enhance, and immortalize the visual and emotional depth of his work, adding a striking sense of texture and dimension.

The resin's glossy transforming fragile printed media into bold, enduring pieces that captivate and endure. Every piece by Spitz draws from the rich tapestry of pop culture. For the artist, pop culture is more than entertainment—it’s a reflection of society’s dreams, contradictions, and history. His work celebrates iconic figures and stories, reimagining them through printed media and bringing them to life in vivid, dynamic, unexpected ways.
